Old Books

I am still experiencing  a bit of a painting-block :( 

So today I went to a local garden fest and I thrifted a very nice old book with embossed cover. I thought it looked so special, just had to have it. I got a few others as well (for the text and the covers, don't know what I'll do with them just yet, but that'll come) So for the lack of art at the moment I thought to share this little happy event with you instead

Flower Girl

I made this little wallhanging for my niece,

had to be thrifty and use very limited art supplies

(I am visiting my family

and only took my coloured pencils and sketchbook)

My Dad found a piece of box in the shed,

my Mum had a white candle instead of my yummie beeswax

(not to be recommended b.t.w.)

and I used the specials guide from the local supermarket

and some cheap-o kids acrylic-tubs from the local store.

The gift was well received :-)
