All together now

So this is my All Together Now post and I am the proverbial white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland * I'm LATE I'm LATE I'm LATE !

So, I should be bragging about myself ? Well this is a wonderful start then isn't it ? I am uhmmm, I am  uhmmmm {hear me stuttering with shame}, I am .......{bright light of revelation!} ... Always FULL of ideas and inspiration !.... and therefor I get LOST or LATE with things, I never forget though, so I always come clean on promiseses and I always finish what I start, ..... it sometimes just gets delayed, in transit, left on the backburner for a bit.... whatever you want to call it. So, oh yes, the BRAGGING: I am wonderful of course, I guess I am proud of myself for always keeping going,  I will fall flat on my face and crawl up again and then I will trip and crash and get hurt again and ....you get it ....I will crawl up again and again and again. I feel a little like Katniss in that way, yeah, you guessed right, I just finished the Hunger Games book 1 {I gave up one evening this week to read it, because I needed to see if I could take my son and his friends to see the movie for his Birthday.....no, they're too young} So that's also the reason I am late with this post, I had to organise this Birthday party, the cake, the sleepover {house full of 11 year old boys now} etc. etc. So yeah, I started a new life yet again {if you wish, you can read about that page in my black book here} and so far I think I am on the right track this time, it means putting in lots of hours for very little at this stage, but at least I am doing something I love and that makes it all good. For those of you that don't know yet {really ? after all that I have been posting on this blog ?} I am a Mixed media artist, designer, teacher, gallery/studio owner now too and a mother of two incredibly cute kids {I love them to bits} and I have a partner-in-crime that is forever on my side {how lucky is that ?} No we never got married, because we preferred to spend our money on travels around the world and admit it, "living-in-sin" is so much more exciting, ha! Handmade Journals

I have always loved journals, booklets, notebooks etc. - can't have enough of them and for a while now I have been making some myself. I am so glad I found out how to make them and I love mixing up different papers in the journals (the journal I am using myself at the moment has about 4 different ones) I am painting and drawing covers for them and I also put them in my Etsy shop. The one I put in there 2 days ago sold already and I had not even made a blogpost about it yet ! So I'll put some pics here of this gorgeous little journal -just for fun- with my promise that more handmade journals will find their way to my Etsy store soon. They are all OOAK's (one-of-a-kind's) of course :)

I finally finished this book as a gift for my Mum
remember ?
It started as my first Coptic Book a while ago.......
I took it with me half finished...I always run out of time.
Now it's her turn to write some stories or poems in the open pages or in between the drawings and paintings.
When I get home I want to make another coptic journal, it's loads of fun !

Brown Paper Booklet #1

I already have too many unfinished projects, too many ideas floating inside my head and definitely too little time, so of course I thought I'll sqeeze in this little project that has been nagging me for a while ever since I saw it at this blog by the very creative iHanna

-Painted brown wrapping paper (both sides) ripped into pages and making it into little booklets-

and the kids LOOOOOVE to do it too!!!

Coptic Binding

I wanted to try out this coptic bookbinding for myself, and this is the result.

I used watercolour paper and covered the cover with textured paint.

I wanted to make it look a bit old, vintage.

I will still decorate the front and show it again.

The process is really enjoyable and will certainly make more journals/books in the future.

I made myself a book !

How exciting !

I just received my copy in the mail yesterday.

I had two of these books made in December as Christmas gifts for my parents and my sister.
It was a bit of a gamble really, as I did it all on-line and had the books delivered to my parent's house directly.
They loved them and said I should order a copy for myself as well.
I am happy with the result, it's a 24 pages soft cover.
