Pigs Fly !

PIGS DO FLY !

with a hand-stamped and aged metal tag

box with medium sized metal alphabet stamps

Finished this box just yesterday, but didn't get a chance to share it yet. Then today the tag even makes sense ! I heard that the design I entered for the mural contest got selected as one of the 6 finalists ! This is a bi-annual festival in the "mural town" of Katikati, so I feel like I am flying too.

The Rainbow Box

woodburn design and painted in the amazing technicolours of the rainbow. Okay, so I started playing along with Jane Spakowsky's 10 day challenge and thought it would be kinda cool to make me do the 10 paintings in pink hues, since this is a colour I do not often choose. But after 5 of those pink/purple works I needed some other colours....don't get me wrong I like all the colours of the rainbow, I have no issues with any of them, it's just that one seems to get used to using certain colours more often than others. So I made this box....and called her "She's like a Rainbow" thought that was fitting all this thinking about colours I was doing......It's a box with space for 15 paint pottles and brushes and pencils etc. in.It's 23.5x20.5x5.5 cm or 9.25x8x2.25 inch

It is for sale, you can message me here, I will have to check on the postage, but again I have to run now, this week seems so busy, but I will be back this evening..

In the box !

In the Box !

This could mean so many things.

Today for me there are a few things "in the box"

Firstly, I had the kids yesterday at my Art class paint their first portraits on cardboard boxes - this was my sample ↑ - to see what THEY made, visit my school-site - go HERE *

Secondly, I just received an email that I won the most GORGEOUS Domino book in a Giveaway at "Artfully Musing" - check out Laura's blog HERE *

Thirdly, and I will make a more elaborate post about this soon, I am almost certain to have a little shop/workshop/studio in this amazing place, for a sneak peek go HERE *

And that's all I am writing today, because I have a zillion things to do....

Have a WONDERFUL DAY !!!!!

WELCOME 2012 - the old Year 's in the BOX - and a GIVE AWAY !

Happy New Year to all my Blog friends and followers !
Of course I also want to wish that everything you wish will come true for you this year. I can now continue with my "waiting-to-be-published" posts. In this one I will share two cute boxes I made as Christmas gifts for my Mum and sister. They got a little delayed on the sleigh-ride, so they opened them last night on New Years Eve. I first woodburned the design and the words in the wood and then gave them a paintwash and painted the details. They both have some glitter and goldleaf happening (that doesn't always show up on the photos so they are even better i.r.l.)

I made some cards with the images as well, they are so cute and available in my Etsy shop now.

The blank canvas and the technicolours

Yes my canvas on the big easel is still blank and staring at me every morning. So instead I thought I'll show you my gorgeous box that I use to keep my Prismacolours in. It's an old cutlery box that I found in a small -but oh so yummie- shop last year. The top compartments are all for the pencils and the bottom drawer I use for my Pan pastels and some other harder pastel crayons. Doesn't it look great ? So, well I'll keep you posted on that canvas tough, the ideas are in my head....just have to get them on now !

Aye and we're loved by our Mermies to boot,

Drink up me 'earties YoHo !..."
