Older Artworks dusted off

I am having a HUGE cleanout at home and I found two old attempts at watercolouring I think I did them in 1995. One is of a Kotuku or New Zealand White Heron, the other of the famous Moeraki Boulders, a strange, alien appearance off the coast close to Dunedin -read more by following the embedded links Thought I'll just share them with you, sometimes it's nice to find some old stuff like this

Handmade Journals

I have always loved journals, booklets, notebooks etc. - can't have enough of them and for a while now I have been making some myself. I am so glad I found out how to make them and I love mixing up different papers in the journals (the journal I am using myself at the moment has about 4 different ones) I am painting and drawing covers for them and I also put them in my Etsy shop. The one I put in there 2 days ago sold already and I had not even made a blogpost about it yet ! So I'll put some pics here of this gorgeous little journal -just for fun- with my promise that more handmade journals will find their way to my Etsy store soon. They are all OOAK's (one-of-a-kind's) of course :)

Life's too short - and the need for new shoes

I read this quote somewhere, forgot where and now cannot find who it is from either. But I had to make a journal page with it, and I also wanted to try out my new watercolour box and some other ideas that I had stored in my head.
...but now I see that I probably need new shoes ! ha !
(btw. should have flipped that lovely shoe pic over so it points to the right, see that now, well next time....)

Playing Peek a Boo at the shipyard

A journal spread I did recently in my Coptic while tossing with some ideas and techniques - I intend to make a litte poem to go on the right page. I got inspired by all the shipping containers that are being brought to my area at the moment. We'll have about 400 all up, walls of them.

They are put there to protect our village suburb and our houses from the falling rocks from the hills and cliffs around. I understand that, but I really do not like them, getting through the village is becoming a sort of a peek a boo game and apparently they are here to stay for quite some time, because they just don't know what to do with these hills and everytime we have a half decent aftershock more comes falling down.

A Thread Book

I have made a few little 120x210 mm "Thread" books,
basically they have one signature of nice thick creamy drawing paper sewn with a pink pearl thread into a sturdy cover that I sketched and painted. This one is a Red and Cream version with a Unicorn on the front There are 24 pages for thoughts, desires, exploits, sketches or whatever. Available on my Etsy
