Hippos - { face # 19 }

Meet 'Hippos' - my portrait of a horse.
Yes, he has eyes, a nose a mouth and ears, so he can be my face number 19
This started as a background meant for a different idea, then neglegted and then I basically threw on another layer of stuff and after I saw how it had dried I was excited ! I hung it on the wall in my studio and turned it a few times and then I saw this horse emerge. I left it loose so that you can still see the beautiful effects in the background. One of the few works I am really happy with {for the moment} And....I got the recipe for the background ! I worked back to waht I had done, so now I have prepared a second panel for another something, don't know what just yet....

29 Faces # 18

# 18 for 29 Faces
She is a covergirl !
handmade journal w/2 signatures handmade papers

29 Faces # 17

a Journal entry
Frankly I don't know where this comes from, I started with the colour, green oxide, I really like that green and then it sort of happened. While painting and stuff, I was thinking a lot about why am I here (one of those philosophical moods I sometimes get into) who would really care if I were not here. Would anybody really have that much of a different excistance ? What if I did not paint and not posted in my blog almost every day. Who am I fooling ? what am I doing and WHY ? But then I have joined this 29 faces challenge, so I should and I also have to keep going for the kids, but in my heart today I am lost and don't see the big reason why , well nevermind. I hope to feel better tomorrow.

29 Faces #13 and #14

Pushing myself with use of colours/styles and emotions
I notice this 29 Faces September challenge is a great way for me to push myself in using other styles and colours that I would not normaly pic and spill my emotionsa bit more. Today I am posting 2 faces (so I'll have one day off this weekend and I need it !) today I had some sweet thoughts that started after I woke and remembered a sweet dream I had last night....let's hope it does come true....

it happens- no -fool !

I usually am a content person and I fight my own way through most things. Also, I usually keep my dark sides hidden (nice and safe)
I usually refrain from using hard language and rather keep quiet
Today I felt the opposite of this all with a splitting headache because of this on top and I am therefore thankful for my art, it helps, it heals, it calms me down, this is my journal page for today and a face somehow for 29 Faces September

Pippi ² - Deja Vu

Just HAD to share this...
You all know me as Pippi, from my avatar/old photo from when I was approximately 9 years old and when I won first prize in a dress up contest party. This set off my complete Pippi connection for life. I had always liked Pippi and thought she was my hero etc. etc., but after that prize, she and I merged somehow and she became my muse and alter ego spirit kind off gal :D
So this week, my daughter (al;most 9 now) wanted to dress up "like you mum !" for her bookweek parade at school....so we did.....and here she is and just for fun I put that old photo of mine with hers in this post. Only noticed when I did this that Mr. Nilsson (the monkey) is on the other shoulder...

29 Faces # 1+2

29 Faces September, as is the challenge by Ayala Art, well why not give it a go huh ? Here are the first 2, profiles in liquid graphite (brown tinted on the left and green tinted on the right) made as a study/practice run for the use of this medium in my Coptic journal and with some added crackle

Organic Abstract

Organic Abstract one way
and upsidedownsideup - you choose

I call this piece "Organic Abstract"
Organic because of the colours and the feeling it gives me. The colours actually are richer and deeper in real life. Some areas I still am not sure of, but this is my first finished abstract project {they never really worked for me before} Glycérine teaches an abstract class at the Trodden Path, you know where I also teach my Fresco (see last post) A great community Glycérine is a wonderful coach !
Check it out :)

This is a work in progress and a look at my encaustic set up in the studio
