This is the latest spread in my Coptic Journal. A fresco style page on the right (that proud little Peacock Chicky) and the other side and the little insert booklet is matched in colours and paints. I wrote a bunch of inspirational quotes and did a funny little bird collage/painting in the centre insert. Just wanted to show that even with the traditional fresco style you can do some unconventional colours and designs, and hey, I just had a lot of FUN ! and that is what it is all about right ? PLAY pLaY Play ;)

Overpainting
Lately I have been seeing a lot of talk and do about this thing called "overpainting" - where the starting point is an image from a magazine and then there is painting over that image. To tell you the truth, I am not a great fan of doing this myself. I rather paint from my memories or so. Sometimes I see results from ohters and they can look cool, but to go there myself....I have a hard time with that. But okay, I needed to try it out before I voiced my opinion I thought.......so I did........ and this is the page I made in one of my altered journals....hmm.... I think I could have as well painted from scratch, there is not much from "before" left over.... and I should have made a picture of that "before"...well maybe next time... or not...we'll see....

I've been internalising a very complicated situation in my head
I saw this picture on Facebook one day and had to share it somehow. Now this week I have suffered from my horrible headaches again. They had been away for quite a while and how wonderful was that ! But then they came back and I realised they are mostly on the left side of my head, right behind my eye, like I would love to just take my eye out and scratch the pain away. Then I had to think of this picture again. The right side of the brain is the creative side, the "happy" side, right ? So then, when my left side aches so, it must be because my left brain fights the exact-nes, because it wants to join my right brain but it can't ? So basically there is a little war going on in my head ?.........I don't know....well anyway that is my take on it.

and the winner is :
Hellooooooooo
First of all, my apologies for the little delay in drawing for this give away...I had a Birthday to celebrate of course and a couple of days with splitting headaches after....(not related but a big pain !) It's getting better now, so to pick the winner of my Loving Post Give away, I asked my daughter to help me a bit. I wrote the names on the back of assorted red and pink hearts and folded them in half, put them in a cute circle and asked my daughter to pick one and reveal the name underneath, and the winner is..............(drumroll)
Congratulations Mary !
please get your address to me, so I can send you the prize....
your choice: One of these three originals !

♥ My Loving Mode ♥
So......let's talk about love !
♥
so I have decided that this Valentine's Day I will have a Give away......YAY !!
I won't say yet what you'll be able to win, that is going to be a SURPRISE......but if you want to be in to win, leave me a comment, post on your Facebook for an extra chance, Twitter or Blog for another, you get my drift. Just let me know here in the comments where you have spread DA LUV ! ♥♥♥♥♥
We're getting into the ♥ Loving ♥ Mode of the year:
♥ Valentine's Day ♥
When I grew up in Holland they did not celebrate it much,
of course now they do, sell more red roses, chocolates and many other
'loving' ♥ things. Strange, in my opinion we should show our love ALL YEAR
long, not just on one day of the year where all prices for all things
red and hearts and lovely get hugely inflated, just because..
♥ so I have decided that this Valentine's Day I will have a Give away......YAY !!

Maximum Impact - Minimum Effort
Maybe some of you have heard me say this already ? I am working towards a certain goal this year. It is one of Goddess Leonie's sayings : "Maximum Impact - Minimum Effort" and allthough at this moment I make HUGE amounts of effort with just very little impact..... I BELIEVE the first statement must be achievable. One of Leonie's wonderful tools is this VERY affordable 2012 Creating your Goddess Year workbook, planner & calendar. It has been incredibly popular & useful to help you plan out & make happen your most incredible year yet. Sounds cool huh ? Guess I'll start there. If you like the sound of this, why not follow the link and grab one yourself ! Over the last three years apparently thousands of women have used this workbook with the most amazing results. It’s the best planning tool available to help you make your year more inspiring than ever. It’s filled with over 100 pages of worksheets & a printable calendar to help you dream, manifest, set your intentions, plan & cultivate your amazing new year. What you want to create during it. And most importantly, how to make it happen. There still is plenty of time, it's only the start of February. Have one yourself now !

Pshychedelic speed sketching ;o)
I uploaded another speed sketching video the other day, this time a quick charcoal 3/4 portrait
I also made another cute, weird, funky animal. "SaY WHAT ! said the Psychedelic caT" is what I called him. It's amazing how wonderful freeing it feels to crawl into the body of an animal and shake off your feelings by drawing them. Clears up the psychedelic mind, hehe !
