Pensive

A work in progress or no longer ?
I like the unfinished kinda look to it
and the monochromatic with a hint of colour,
we'll see if I can keep my pencils
and brushes off her long enough...

Feather Lady

This is one of the journal entries from the coptic journal I made.
I found the Guinea Fowl feathers while visiting a kids-petting-farm.
The fowl were loosing their feathers and these were too irrisistible....
I could not take them back with me to New Zealand though, NZ is pretty stricked in bringing in animal- and organic bits and pieces,
so I just had to use them right there and then.....
A5 size - portrait on a piece of frayed and stained printed cotton fabric in the coptic journal

The book for my Mum

I finally finished this book as a gift for my Mum
remember ?
It started as my first Coptic Book a while ago.......
I took it with me half finished...I always run out of time.
Now it's her turn to write some stories or poems in the open pages or in between the drawings and paintings.
When I get home I want to make another coptic journal, it's loads of fun !

Flower Girl

I made this little wallhanging for my niece,
had to be thrifty and use very limited art supplies
(I am visiting my family
and only took my coloured pencils and sketchbook)
My Dad found a piece of box in the shed,
my Mum had a white candle instead of my yummie beeswax
(not to be recommended b.t.w.)
and I used the specials guide from the local supermarket
and some cheap-o kids acrylic-tubs from the local store.
The gift was well received :-)

Brown Paper Booklet #1

I already have too many unfinished projects, too many ideas floating inside my head and definitely too little time, so of course I thought I'll sqeeze in this little project that has been nagging me for a while ever since I saw it at this blog by the very creative iHanna
-Painted brown wrapping paper (both sides) ripped into pages and making it into little booklets-
and the kids LOOOOOVE to do it too!!!

Coptic Binding

I wanted to try out this coptic bookbinding for myself, and this is the result.
I used watercolour paper and covered the cover with textured paint.
I wanted to make it look a bit old, vintage.
I will still decorate the front and show it again.
The process is really enjoyable and will certainly make more journals/books in the future.
