Time......

Time flies, where does it go ?
It's been quite a while since I blogged. I have been busy which is good of course. I have been challenging myself, done some 20 minute painting excercizes (want to keep doing that, they are so much fun and so exciting!) I have also started to do some palette knife excercizes again and this picture "Worship" is  the biggest knife painting I have done so far. Oh and one of my paintings has made it into the Beachside Art Auction (fundraiser for the Papamoa Kindergarten) on the 15th June (that's pretty exciting too)
And my weekly classes have started again of course, so yes, this Miss Pippi is off the street and again searching desperately for more hours each day....but having loads of fun with everything.

Special frame times two !

make a gif

Somebody asked me if I would sell Madame Zborowska. Yes I would, the little problem -if you want to call it so- was that I had painted Daffne on the back of the cloth on another layer of plaster ;) So....I came up with this frame, a spin on a floating frame, but this one makes it possible to enjoy both sides or one side today and another tomorrow (or change with the seasons, Daffne looks more like Spring or Summer and Mme Zborowska more like Autumn/Winter ) So these ladies in their special frame are 34 cm square (= approx. 13.5 inch square) and the price is US 155.- + p&h.
Great gift for Christmas !  I you like them, message me

Drift Angel -iv-

This Angel is the largest so far, she is on a piece of driftwood 14x85x6 cmI needed a little time to see her in this piece of wood, but when I did I got quite excited. She is soaring the skies with her hair trailing behind her, she looks a little like a superwoman or a wonderwoman.

She has a ring on the back for safe mounting on any wall you wish (above a door or on a mantelpice, I can also see her on a bed-head for a brave girl :) Contact me HERE if she's the one for you ( US$80 +P&H)

Hidden

Mixed Media on hardboard in custom frame

I made this little hidden doe in the forest a little while ago, but now my very helpful man has made a custom frame for it :) The image is 16 ½ x 11 ½ inch approx. or 42 x 30 cm for the metric ones. In real life it is so much better ! The colours are deeper and richer, there are dried autumn leaves and drippies and yummie yummie beeswax ! I like how she looks in her framed position. If you like her, you can pm me here, I need space !

Lily and her bird

Here's a little cute one on stretched canvas. I started her a while ago and almost forgot about her {bad mother I know.... I blush with shame} then... when I was clearing some space in my studio I saw her cute little face :) and had to finish her right there and then ! Encaptured her in a yummie beeswax top-layer, oooh smells divine and is soooooooo magical ♥ She could be yours you know, just look HERE ♥

20x20 cm or 8x8 inch
yummie layers !

WELCOME 2012 - the old Year 's in the BOX - and a GIVE AWAY !

Happy New Year to all my Blog friends and followers !
Of course I also want to wish that everything you wish will come true for you this year. I can now continue with my "waiting-to-be-published" posts. In this one I will share two cute boxes I made as Christmas gifts for my Mum and sister. They got a little delayed on the sleigh-ride, so they opened them last night on New Years Eve. I first woodburned the design and the words in the wood and then gave them a paintwash and painted the details. They both have some glitter and goldleaf happening (that doesn't always show up on the photos so they are even better i.r.l.)

I made some cards with the images as well, they are so cute and available in my Etsy shop now.

Corpse Bride - revisited

A fellow artist Theresa from Faerie Moon Creations wrote a blogpost earlier this week about her favorite December-Movies and I have a bunch like that too. One we both seem to like is "Corpse Bride" by Tim Burton, I so looooove this ! I once did a Burtonesque painting inspired by this movie

Oh and I also did a set of ATCs in a homage to Mr. B.
Now it just so happened to happen that last night while I was painting on a commission (yes, I am commissioned ! deadline is Xmas !) there was a re-run (they are very good with those here..) of the Corpse Bride on TV and I didn't mind this at all, they can screen this again and again and I still love it, so today when I was trying to be quiet a bit to get rid of my headache, I painted another bride and sewed her on a paper doily and sewed that on a sturdy painted cardboard, I love her ♥ I got to try out how my new Aquabrush works at the same time. She is 22x21 cm and the back is the lovely blue/green paper on the topmost pic. I will put her up for sale, just because I know there are so many Burton fans about and it is just in time for Christmas
I will send her with a bunch of extra's for the festive season ♥

Handmade Journals

I have been playing with some paint and sketching what I saw appear in the paintblotches, I love this process. Then I bound them into a couple of journals with assortments of papers. They are now ready to be filled with thoughts and drawings, maybe yours ? They make lovely orginal gifts for the coming Festive Season and I have put some in my Etsy shop :) Just follow the link
